Go to Amazon (or other online store that has Christmas items and an affiliate program) and choose 3 products.

They can be related or they can be different, but the key is that it has to have something to do with Christmas: gifts, decorations, music, tree’s etc.

Write 12 articles related to the products you chose (4 each for the 3 different products).  The articles can be direct reviews or they can be somewhat related (such as the history of Christmas tree’s if you have chosen to promote a Christmas tree).  Each article should be around 400-500 words each.

If you know how to do keyword research (and if you have any of my products you should know how to do this) this will help but it’s not totally necessary as long as you have the word Christmas in your titles.

The article writing is the hard part, after that it’s smooth sailing.

Start a blogger blog and place ONE of your articles there for Product No 1.  Also place a link to the related Amazon product through your affiliate link on the page at the start and end of the article.  For the remainder of the articles for that product submit them to EzineArticles.com with a link in the author bio box linking to your blog.

Next create a squidoo lens.  Place an article for Product No. 2 on it as well as links to the related Amazon product.  Again the remainder of the articles for that product should be submitted to EzineArticles.com with a link to your Squidoo Lens in the author bio box.

Third, Create a hubpage.  Place an article for Product No. 3 and links to the related Amazon product on the hub page.  The remainder of your articles for this product should be submitted to Ezinearticles.

Finally go and link the blogger blog to the Squidoo lens and the Hubpage.  Link the Squidoo Lens to the Hubpage and the Blog, and Link the Hubpage to the Squidoo lens and the Blog.  This creates a lovely circle of backlinks to help boost your pages in the SERPS.

Then just sit back and wait for the commissions to roll in.

The reason I’m telling you this is because I only spend a maximum of two hours a day, five days a week doing internet marketing (when my son goes down for a nap), and I still make money.  Why?

I believe it’s because I’m organised.  I do a different task everyday and while many of them are different, they all help build my internet presence, and also build my income.

Monday – I work on my websites, I have four niche websites that are not related.

Tuesday – My own products.  This is when I spend time to either create or promote the products that I have made.  Currently I’m promoting Auction Classified Cash and will do so for the next few weeks before I start on my next product.

Wednesday – eBay day!  Today I’m either writing Classified As for eBay, or promoting my BANS sites (since they are eBay related).

Thursday – Blogs.  I update most of my blogs – I have over 10 different blogs on various niches.

Friday – Squidoo!  While I’ve still yet to make much money from squidoo lenses, I still spend a day either updating or creating new ones. 

Weekends – relaxing!

It doesn’t matter who you are, as long as you are prepared to spend time working your business everyday it will grow and you’ll start making money in no time!

The truth of the matter is that it wasn’t the product I was promoting that was the key, it was how I was promoting them.

You see many Internet Marketers make the mistake of trying to sell a product through an ad with these key mistakes:

1. They use ONLY the product name in eBay’s title – very rarely to do people search for specific products.  Instead of the product name: eg. Influential Cash Quarterly (made up name), use the benefits in the title instead e.g. Make MONEY ! New Influence System Made Me Thousands!

2. Think about DESIRE – Why do people want that product?  To Lose Weight?, Find Love?, Make Money?,  Use those desires to promote your product but keep it real and don’t over-hype.

3. Don’t try and sell in your ad.  The sales page will do that – Your job is to create enough interest for people to CLICK THROUGH to the VENDOR! 

4. Really the best tip I can give you is to become really good at working out what people want and giving THAT to them.

How did I get so smart?  I learnt many of my Internet Marketing skills from Wealthy Affiliate.  I’ve been a member for over six months now and before I joined I couldn’t sell squat – They gave me the lightbulb to realise how to be a successful internet marketer.

I do realise that the monthly cost of Wealthy Affiliate is a little high, in the beginning I was just going to join for one month and learn everything I could and then quit – but I’m still a member because the skills I have learnt have more than made back the cost of membership.

Classified Ad 1 – Lead Generation

In the past week I’ve had 20 opt-in’s directly from eBay’s Classified Ads.  My aim was to get just 10, and I have already doubled that goal.  That works out at a cost of .50 cents per lead ($9.95 cost of ad / 20 = 0.50 cents).

And I still have over two weeks to go.

Classified Ad 2 – Affiliate Marketing

Admittedly I have chosen a product with alot of competition, so I guess my results have reflected that, but so far I have made nearly $40 from my classified ad.  That’s a $30 profit.  It’s not going to make me rich – but it does show the potential of how well affiliate sales work through classified ads.

Classified Ad 3 – eBook Selling

I have only had the ad selling ebooks up for 3 days.  No sales yet.

Overall – I’m very pleased with how the affiliate marketing side of things are going and will definately explore this further in the future.

I have never attempted a Classified Ad before so I’m not sure exactly how this is going to work, but hopefully it will be easy enough.

A bonus about classified ads is that they allow you to put in external links and opt-in boxes.  This could be a good way for either lead generation or affiliate marketing.

I don’t think this format lends itself to selling cheap ebooks like we used to do, however I expected that the way we currently do business would be turned on it’s head.  I still think the $9.95 fee is a bit steep, but I guess if I’m selling quality electronic products worth more, then the fee will probably justify the means.

I’ll let you know how I get on.

I think we do most of that stuff in this week’s class (as you know I’m a student of John Thornhill’s Personal Coaching Program).  So after this week it should be ready to be sold on Clickbank.  I’m sort of ambivilent about what to expect.  Some days I think this product is going to make me millions of dollars and other days I think I’m never even going to sell one.

Of course in all likelihood I’ll end up in the middle of those two extremes.

It just has seemed like it’s taken so long and I just want to get it going already ya know.

But I’ll still take it at the same pace as the course suggests.  Besides I have no idea how to list something on Clickbank.
