Ok, times are getting tough, the economy is crashing and countries are falling into a recession. But if you make a plan you can beat the recession (or at least increase your own income – I’m not sure you’ll be able to help the whole country ) and make easy money online.

So are you ready to start earning some extra cash? Cool, let’s get started.

First you are going to need a plan. Yep most of the hard work of earning money from the internet starts in the planning stages. You need to work a proven system for making money and that means starting from the beginning.

There are many systems for making money online but since I don’t have time to write a novel, I’ll let you in on one proven money making method.

Your first step is choosing a topic. It could be anything you like. In fact, write down 10 different topics that you think that you would happy to be writing about (because you’ll need to do a bit of writing in a blog and also some articles). Not every topic is going to make you money which is why I recommend coming up with a list of 10 or so.

Once you have your list, go and do a search on Google. Are there any paid ads for your terms? (The Adwords ads are those that on the right hand side of the page). If there are ads then it’s a good chance that your topic or niche could make you some money.

Another way to find hot niches or topics is to take a visit to your local newsagency and see if there are any magazines in your niche. If there is a magazine about your topics, then there is money in that niche.

Ok, so you’ve found a niche, then what? Now you need to narrow your topic down into smaller niches. It’s much easier to make money from a smaller niche than a large broad topic.

Do a quick search for ‘lose weight’ in Google – how many competing sites are there? (over 39 million on my last search). You are going to have a tough time trying to get any traffic from that much competition. What about ‘lemonade cleanse diet’? Just over 100,000 competing sites.

Actually that’s not even your true competition because that’s just doing a general search on the broad match on Google. For an exact match you put your phrase in “quotes”. Doing an exact match on “lemonade cleanse diet” I get just over 3,000 competing sits. Jackpot! This topic has ads which means there is money in the topic, very small competition (anything under 100,000 competing sits is considered small).
