I'm making money online so I don't have to get a Job

As I become more and more savvy with SEO I realise that the most important way to get your website or blog ranked high in Google (getting your site to rank #1 in Google is guaranteed to get you lots of lovely traffic) is about 20% on page SEO (keywords, bolding, h1 tags etc) and about 80% off page SEO – namely backlinks.
But not just any backlinks, keyword anchored backlinks. What’s a keyword anchored backlink?
A keyword anchored backlink is one that contains your keyword in it. This is what Google uses primarily as a ‘vote’ as to what your site is about.
A keyword anchored backlink: Affiliate Marketing Tips
A normal backlink: http://www.tracey-edwards.com
They both go to the same website (i.e. mine), however I would get a lot more link juice with Affiliate Marketing Tips than I would just having my website address.
I never understand the importance of that before (which is why my blog ranks really highly for my name, but not much else).
I’ve been using keyword backlinks a lot lately for many of niche sites and they are slowly rising in the SERPS. I’ve only been doing it for a few weeks now but I know that if I keep at it and building links to my sites they will eventually get higher and higher.
So how you do get backlinks to your site?
My favorite method is still via article marketing. Article directories such as ezinearticles and goarticles have a high PR (which is important for sites linking to you – not your own site) and you are able to place two links into your resource boxes.
If you wrote one article for each keyword phrase that you are targeting then you could have one of your anchored links to your specific post, and another to your main site. And effectively get two good backlinks to your site.
Another method is commenting on dofollow blogs, joining link building programs and learning as much as you can about SEO.
I haven’t even started trying to rank this site for anything yet because I don’t have a clue what I want to use it for yet (other than just looking pretty and chatting to you guys) but one day I might make it a huge site full of lots of affiliate marketing tips that you can make lots of money online with.
Until then – enjoy my posts.

I’m pretty much doing what you are doing with niche sites ‘cept I use adsense more than anything (I’ve just read your Amazon post). I even have a blog like this one where I ramble on about what I’m doing. I was leaving comments on sites the other day by doing a search for comment luv + the keyword. Most of them are no follow links. How do you target your search for do follow blogs? All my sites are do follow ( I like to share as there is plenty for everyone in my opinion). I can’t seem to nail it and it seems random as to whether I do land on a blog with do follow links. Kudos for getting a link from Griz and getting decent comments by the way. I just seem to get mostly spammers looking for link juice. I also like your motto about not getting a job. I’m a stay at home Dad and worry about having to go back to work when the kids are all at school and I’m over the hill. So I’m madly trying to get an income going so I don’t have to as well.
Hi Leigh,
Thanks for stopping by. I used to be vigilant about only commenting on do follow blogs but I don’t really care now – they both seem to pass some link juice. I usually just do a search on google (blogsearch.google.com) for my topic and post away. About half of them get through and from that a few of them are do follow.
I made this blog do follow once and the spammers came out in droves so I changed it back – I might change it back again one day
I like the niche sites and I do use amazon mostly. I’ve read xfactor’s stuff though so can see it would work as well with adsense. Most of my adsense sites right now are info based, not product based but that might change in the future – I’m going to do some testing.
Yeah I never want a job again – I hate working for other people. I much prefer doing my own thing and as long as it’s profitable then hey why not!
