I have just started targeting amazon. Earlier I used to promote clickbank products, but the problem there is that almost all of them are too competitive already and it is getting difficult day by day.

Hopefully with amazon it won’t be such a problem as there are millions of products and categories to promote the products.

CommissionJunction and shareasale are two other options I am looking at.

Interesting read. I’m looking at putting up a few sites right now with Amazon as the main affiliate and appreciate the tips.

Just as a point of discussion. You mentioned Grizz is an ‘Adsense boy’. I’ve been through his blogs dozens of times, and if memory strikes me right he said he has 200+ blogs – only 25 of those were adsense driven. I think he makes the majority of his change from different affliates.

That guy knows what he’s doing and works hard at it. Inspires me all the time.

Keep at it you’ll get there.

If people are clicking your button but not ordering then you need more visitors. Most months I only get a CTR of about 2 – 5% (this triples at Christmas time). That means you need at least 100 visitors to get maybe one sale.

That’s why it’s so important to choose products that people are searching for and try and rank highly for those keywords.

My hubs are random. I might go on a trend and just do baby products, or shoes or something but then I get bored and choose completely different products – LOL

It doesn’t matter if they are related or not – although if they are related make sure you link them together for some extra backlinks.

I make more with my own sites, but I’ve been impressed with the hubs as well. It’s probably a 70/30 split. (70% my own sites, 30% hubs).

Although to be fair, I only discovered hubpages a few months ago and I’ve been building my own sites for over a year, so I’ve got a lot more of them!

That’s a great post – very informative.

I make a fair bit of money with Amazon myself. Mostly Amazon UK – which still allows PPC unlike the US version. How do you find the split in sales between hubpages and your own sites? Which makes up the most?

I haven’t really built many hubs yet, but am interested to explore this further.

I’ll try to make 50-100 Amazon Hubs this month depending on school and Coursework I hope.

One last question I ask is do you make a few hubs in a similar niche, or just go from product to product.

Also, this may sound a little nooby but do you make sure you type “X” amount of words or does it just flow? I’ve heard usually 400 is a decent number as a minimum.
