Thanks for stopping by. Yes you can use your hubpages address for Amazon associates. They are pretty easy to get into (unless you are in one of the states that dropped affiliates because of the tax issues).

Once you get your id you can start promoting any products you like. (Try and think about things that don’t have us much competition from other affiliates, but are still popular). I usually stick with toys or baby products – but I know others that are making a killing with garden furniture and the like! Think outside of the usual electronics and/or tv’s that everyone seems to want to promote). Anything can work.

I’ve enjoyed reading your post! I’m still a newbie in this Affiliate Marketing stuff. I’ve just tried to register myself under the Amazon Associates. During registration, I was prompted 2 questions: 1) What is the name of your website? and 2) What is the URL of the website(s) you will use to send traffic to Amazon?…
Since I do not have my own website yet, could I use the URL from HubPages to fill in these two fields?

Yes I have a few .info’s and they rank just the same as my .com’s. I use html but only because I have a lot of these sites and with wordpress you constantly need to install the new updates as they come out and if you’ve got a lot of sites that can be a pain. I don’t think it makes any difference to ranking or seo though.

That’s a great post – very informative.

I make a fair bit of money with Amazon myself. Mostly Amazon UK – which still allows PPC unlike the US version. How do you find the split in sales between hubpages and your own sites? Which makes up the most?

I haven’t really built many hubs yet, but am interested to explore this further.
