Do you know which the second most used reference site behind Wikipedia is? Well since you have already read the title of this post I’m sure you know the answer is Yahoo Answers. Millions of people use it to ask questions and get answers on topics on a variety of niches, and if you are an internet marketer then it should be one of the resources you use to get traffic because they allow links to your website.

Of course you need to follow the rules and provide valuable answers to questions, but used in the right way, Yahoo Answers is a great way to get targeted traffic to your product or site.

Here’s how it works:

After you have registered and filled out your profile you are then able to answer questions in any category that you feel you can answer. Obviously since your primary goal will be to drive traffic to your website you should choose questions related to your niche.

A good way to find questions that you can answer is to do a search either by putting in your keywords into the search box and narrowing the field to unanswered questions, or just browse the category you are interested in for questions that are still open.

However finding questions is only the beginning. Yahoo Answers is also a powerful social media network so make sure you add all of the people asking or answering questions into your friend list.

A good way to increase your friend network is to vote positively on other people’s answers (if they are good enough).

The best way to build credibility is to only add your website link occasionally, not on every answer. A good rule of thumb is once every three or four answers you write. If you aim to answer four questions a day, that’s one link per day that you can get back to your website.

You can gain more trust if you sign your name when you submit your answer too as this makes you seem more real and you will build your friendship list much faster.

Yahoo answers are usually ranked very well in both Google and Yahoo so overtime you are likely to gain a lot of targeted traffic to your website using this method.
